How to get the best from your photo calendars

How better to welcome in 2009 than with a fantastic calendar complete with all your favourite snapshots, photos and fond memories.

With our great Cewe Photo World Software you have 7 different calendar types to choose from and customising each one is an absolute doddle. There are tons of great layouts to choose from, plus you have plenty of colour schemes to compliment your pictures.

Here are a couple of great design ideas to get you started:

Having a collage on your calendar’s front cover is a great way of giving an overview of what’s to come inside. By using so many images there’s no need to pick and choose which ones you want to display – why have one, when you can have them all?

Using our software you can also layer photos on top of your collage. Select a favourite image, enlarge it and position it over your collage. Then, simply add a title and you’ve a fantastic front cover for your calendar!

How to: Simply select all the images you want to use in the image selection window (bottom left in the editor screen). Then, right click and choose “Selected images as a collage”. In just a few seconds our software will automatically create your collage using all your chosen images.

When designing your calendar pages it’s important to think about the colour scheme you’re using. In many ways its like decorating a room – matching the right wallpaper with the right carpet. You don’t want them to be too similar so they’re boring, but you also don’t want them so different that they clash. It’s the same thing here, except we’re dealing with your images, backgrounds and calendar text.

With backgrounds you can go two ways – you can co-ordinate or you can contrast. To co-ordinate simply choose a background colour that features strongly in your photos on that page. If you want to contrast you can go for complimentary colours or choose dark where your pictures are light and vise-versa.

By double-clicking on a calendar date area you will bring up the formatting window. Here you can select from various different colour schemes as well as fonts and font sizes. Again it’s simply a case of picking the colours and styles that suit your overall page.

Don’t forget! be inventive, you don’t need to stick to the same styles and layouts for every page. Give each month it’s own individual feel and really have fun with it!
